STAYBRITE ANODISED BRITISH ARMY CAP BADGES  Page 7

Known as Staybrite or Anodised Aluminium, this Electro-plating process resulted in lightweight shiny badges. The main colours used are gold, silver and black. Staybrite replaced brass and nickel as the main metal for British military insignia from around 1950 onwards. King George VI the Queens father died in 1952 so King's Crown Staybrite cap badges are quite rare.
